In carrying out its supervisory activities, the Telekom-Control Commission, as supervisory authority for electronic signatures, makes use of RTR-GmbH's services (see § 15 SigG).

In particular, RTR-GmbH is responsible for maintaining Austria's directories of certification-service-providers. In the case of justified suspicions that the security requirements laid down in the Signature Act are not being fulfilled, RTR-GmbH can order a provider to discontinue its activities immediately or take suitable, more lenient measures.
