Accreditation?
Certification-service-providers that supply electronic signature procedures can apply for accreditation by the supervisory authority if they fulfill the requirements set forth in § 17 SigG. Some of the requirements for accreditation apply to the provider itself (e.g. reliability of personnel), while others apply to the actual certification services of the provider. Therefore, the fact that a certification-service-provider is accredited does not necessarily mean that all of the provider's certification services comply with the same quality standards. The supervisory authority's directory service will thus indicate the specific certification services for which an accredited provider fulfills the legal prerequisites for accreditation.
